You can submit poems, short stories, novels and songs to this competition as long as you haven't had a book published solely in your name with an ISBN

Could you be the UK's next writing star?
The Brit Writers' Awards are looking for the UK's best undiscovered writers — people like you, who create stories, poems or songs that deserve to be shared.

You might have been writing all your life... or maybe writing is a new interest for you. Perhaps you've never written seriously before, but you've always enjoyed telling stories. You might not even know that there is "a book in there somewhere".

Whether you're eight or 108, it's possible that you're one of the original, exciting and talented new writers we're looking for. You could even win an amazing £10,000 — the largest prize ever offered to unpublished writers in the UK.

This website has plenty of writing resources to help you get started. Sign up to receive regular updates; register to use our exclusive inspiration area; read about our high-profile judges and find out who our partners are. Most importantly, get scribbling that masterpiece — we're already counting down to our glittering awards ceremony on Saturday 27 March 2010 and we can't wait to see who steps into the spotlight. Could it be you?

This one looks really good.  There's just a single one-off admin fee of £10.95 to enter as much stuff as you want to send them!

You have to register (which I've just done) and then can start sending them your entries as soon as you've activated your membership.  You upload your work (Word, RTF, PDF, or even MP3 if you're submitting a song  Shocked) so no printing - YAY! and they'll even trust you to send them the cheque sometime in the next two weeks - though they're setting up a secure online payment system soon.  Then you can carry on submitting things - no limit - until the closing date of 18th December.

I'm planning on getting my money's worth.  Grin Grin Grin

The closing date for this was extended. (Originally to end 18 December)

For anyone interested, the new deadline is 5pm GMT today. (Not much notice, I know, but it's easy, online submission by uploading word doc/rich text/pdf.
